Hispanic Scholarship Consortium Selects
Estrada Communications Group.

Austin, TX (January 6, 2005) — In an effort to increase the educational advancement of Latino students within the Central Texas area, the Hispanic Scholarship Consortium (HSC) has selected Estrada Communications Group, Inc. (ECG), to develop and execute an integrated marketing campaign.

“Estrada Communications Group is one of the nation’s most respected Latino-owned agencies with a strong base among corporate clientsand the Latino community inTexas and throughout the U.S.,” said David B. Garcia, Ph.D.  Founder and President of the Hispanic Scholarship Consortium.  “They will be instrumental in helping align HSC with other like minded corporations, organizations and individuals, in order to more effectively assist Central Texas students achieve a successful academic career beyond high school.”

HSC was founded because ofthe rapid Hispanic population growth in Texas.  According to its staff, it wasnecessary that HSCensure resources bereadily available to Central TexasLatino youth. 

“It is not a choice, but rather an obligation to educate the future of our country,”said Garcia.  “We are encouraging the union of various existing organizations in order to increaseour educational and financial resources; while allowing us to serve more students and have a greater impact on their educational progress.”

ECG is a nationally recognized marketing communications and public relations firm that specializes in the Hispanic Consumer Market.  The Austin-based firmwill provide public and media relations support and assist in HSC’s developmental efforts as amajorresource for organizations dedicated to the deliveryof scholarships, endowments, educational guidance, mentoring opportunities, career development and job placement.

“With Hispanics representing overhalf of Texas’ school-aged population and only one-third of those enrolling in colleges and universities, we look forward to contributing to HSC’s mission to increaseresources that willallow for higher educational attainment by Hispanic students,” said ECG Managing Partner, Ron Estrada.

Founded in 2004, the Hispanic Scholarship Consortium is a 501(c)(3) alliance of synergistic organizations whose mission is to increase the enrollment of Central Texas Hispanic students in higher education by providing scholastic services and opportunities. The organization serves as the umbrella organization that serves the more than 130,000 Central Texas Hispanic High School students.
