News/Noticias Garcia joins Estrada Communications Group/Texas as Media and Public Relations Specialist. AUSTIN, TX (May 9, 2000) — Estrada Communications Group, Inc. (ECG) announced today the addition of Melissa Garcia to its Texas operations as Public Relations and Media Coordinator. ECG, a national corporate and marketing communications agency, specializes in corporate/community relations between corporate America, the Hispanic Consumer Market (HCM), community-based organizations, and the audiences who influence them. Among Garcia duties include production of an internal newsletter for McDonald's Corporation. The publication will focus on the company's Hispanic initiatives and feature employees, owner/operators, supply chain vendors, and related programs. ECG is currently advising McDonald's, the world's largest food service retailer, on programs which will foster better community relations and increase brand awareness with the Hispanic Consumer Market (HCM). Garcia will also assist in media relations and public affairs tasks for other ECG clients. She has worked in the Texas political arena for the past five years, specializing in public relations, event planning and coordination, community outreach, and campaign management for various elected officials at local, state, and national levels. She is also involved with the International Good Neighbor Council, which advocates good community and business relations between Texas and Mexican border towns. The Texas native attended Homerton College of Cambridge University in Cambridge, England and specialized in Intensive Studies on multiple subjects, one of which was Media UK. She is a 1996 Honors Graduate from St. Mary's University with a B.A. in Journalism and Speech Communication Arts.
